September/October & Open Day 2023 Newsletter

Hello Gardeners

Here's an update on this month's activities and upcoming events in the garden.

Whats Been Happening

Workshops at the Garden

Workshops by Sally Osterstock & Beau Warren

Sally presented a detailed hands-on workshop on how to espalier apple trees. We learnt what branches to cut and why. And what to keep for structure and fruit.

Beau presented a very informative workshop on growing and planting avocados in Adelaide.

He touched on everything from site selection to different varieties, planting techniques and maintenance. Beau also demonstrated soil preparation, planting and how to construct a shade structure.

Both events were free for garden members.

Bunnings Event

We had a stand at Bunnings Marion recent Spring Carpark event. This was a great way to make community connections and let people know about the garden and our Spring Open Day.
